Panel Members to Discuss Impact of Rescue Horses

We have gathered different perspectives to share with you their thoughts on the causes and possible solutions to the rescue horse issue. As we noted at our earlier forums, the rescue horse issue is the greatest challenge facing the horse industry. There will be representatives from a rescue operation, Bureau of Land Management and a horse breeder. I am looking forward to a very interesting panel as I have really enjoyed learning about them and their perspective on the issue. Please continue reading for a brief bio of the panel participants.

All About Equine Animal Rescue

Horse Rescue Organization

http://www.allaboutequine.org/

All About Equine Animal Rescue (AAE) is a 100 percent volunteer-based, charitable, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit equine rescue and rehabilitation organization located in El Dorado Hills, California. AAE’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate horses that fall victim to inhumane circumstances, most notably, horses that are abused, neglected, or slaughter-bound and find them forever homes.

AAE was founded in 2009 as a result of the down economy and growing number of distressed and auction-bound horses. Too many horses are being transported across US borders and commercially slaughtered each year, and many more inhumanely die each year from neglect, abandonment, abuse, or improper care. Most of our horses are rescued from a slaughterhouse-owned feedlot before they are transported for slaughter in Canada or Mexico.

Both have fitted and shown halter horses at the highest levels, giving them the experience to present your horse at its best, whether being shown to prospective mare owners or buyers or being sold at one of the premier sales. Both currently show in the reining, cutting and working cow horse events and have previously shown in almost every AQHA event. They bring a lifetime of knowledge and passion to the horse industry and willingly share it with those who are interested.

Our goal is to raise horses that will succeed at the highest levels of competition while maintaining the mind, soundness, and conformation for which the American Quarter Horse is known.
